I'll try to explain what makes Sweden and its inhabitants slightly different from the rest of the human world, apart from the fact that we all eat, sleep, shit in our pants and die no matter what country we are from.

Sweden is cold compared to the rest of the world, so the people here are white. We are pretty homogeneous, stereotypically tall, with blond or brownish features (or in my case red). I'd like to say we, or at least the younger generation, are very well informed about the world - hence Christianity and overall religion isn't doing so well. Internet is to be appreciated greatly for this, as Sweden has always been an the international frontier on high-speed internet access. Still, we have the Christmas dinners, although slightly different from yours' across the pond; serving meatballs, sausages, salmon, and in my case a special whipped fish-egg butter made from filtered milk.

We ski in the winter, which takes up most of the year. The summer lasts from may to September (but really from June to August). These times the sun is up to as late as midnight, and breaking dawn again at as early as 4 am. During the winters however, the sun rises at 9 am, and can fade to black again at 3 pm. It's like the bears we have; they go to sleep during this period with their bellies full. That is pretty much how it feels to me, the people just go to sleep and everything becomes dark. It really blossoms and becomes nice in the summers though. You can bathe and everyone is free from school, work or prison.
